What Are People Saying

I was pleasantly surprised for the quality! Near perfect finish. High quality sheath as well. But the best part is that I was able to sharpen it quickly and easily. Usually, this type of steel does not hold the edge very well in the field. Not this one! I was able to put it to hard work and the edge remained sharp for a long time! Price is very reasonable. Usually, this kind of quality products go for no less than 350 - 400 dollars, or more! I will be purchasing from the AncientSmithy often! 5 stars +++!

This Sayoc Tomahawk is incredibly well balanced for a handmade tomahawk, similar to the Winkler sayoc tomahawk designed for the Navy Seals by a Kali master. This tomahawk is slightly bigger and heavier than the winkler version. The steel on this is good impact steel that is easy to sharpen, and it is an axe but I think it was made to be sharpened, was a little dull but 20 strokes on each side of the edge with a stone and it became significantly sharper like a hatchet from sears. It’s not a knife you don’t want to curl the edge on heavy impact but the edge is robust and won’t curl even with a little sharpening. I don’t plan on throwing this but I don’t think you could find a better throwing hatchet. This is also a good buy from a small Ukrainian company, you won’t find a much better tomahawk, full tang the handle will break bones. I bought this for several reasons but primarily for hunting, making blinds and splitting open the chest cavity when gutting dear and bear. It’s a good camping tool too for going up to Algonquin in the Adirondacks.

This thing is STOUT chopped some small pieces of wood just to see how it held up and accidentally hit some small rocks and it honestly didn’t do anything to the tip or edge. Super nice tool

Steel is good enough. Shape is similar enough. It’s a bit heavier than the real thing but the maker can work that down with a little more grinding or they could skeletonize the tang or fuller it and they could get it to damn near perfect. Worth every penny. I will be drilling the tang to reduce weight to get it down to 1.9 to 1.7 pounds currently 2.2 pounds.

I know it's not a Winkler, but this tomahawk is very well made and is of good quality. It is worth the money paid and more. I would recommend.

Questions? We’ve Got You Covered

Is it solid or hollow? Is it heavy?

It’s a prop-grade metal build with a solid hand feel for display and photos; not for real tooling. Please refer to the specs on the page for exact size/weight.

Will it rust? How to maintain it?

Made with stainless steel and a wrapped handle; indoors it resists rust. Keep it dry and wipe with a soft cloth regularly.

Does it come with a display stand? Any assembly required?

Yes, a stand is included. Minimal assembly per the instruction sheet; contact support if any part is missing.

Can I add custom engraving? How long does it take?

Yes. Leave a note at checkout or contact us. Customization usually adds 1–3 business days; customized items aren’t eligible for no-reason returns unless defective.

Is it good for cosplay/shooting? Any safety notes?

Great for cosplay and staging. It’s a display/prop item—don’t swing or strike with it. Keep away from children and fragile items, and follow local safety rules.
